My Story

I greet you fondly, wishing you are having a lot of blessings and success wherever you are. This is Jessica Leticia, and I want to share my last news with you. My mother and I still attend King of the Centuries Church in Joyabaj town. We usually attend our services on Saturdays and Wednesdays. LW is a great blessing for us because I receive tasty food at the feeding program. Besides that, my mother could listen to the gospel. A teacher of LW shared it with her and collected all my news for you. My mother, Maria Garcia, is 40 years old. She is a single mother who works daily as a weaver to support me. She has to cover many bills at home; she sometimes does not have enough resources to cover my school supplies. We are doing well, although we need groceries and soap at home. We raise hens and one cow for sale and get extra income. Besides that, we harvest our own corn and lemon for our consumption.

I am twelve years old and I am so happy to tell you that I am in sixth grade. I prefer to receive face-to-face classes than online because I learn much better and spend time with my friends. I would love to learn how to cook and work in a restaurant when I am older. I hope to accomplish it someday. I am a K’iche dialect speaker and besides my native language, I would love to speak Spanish. My favorite holiday is New Year’s Day. It brings me excitement and happiness because a new year will start. I love drinking peach and apple juices. My birthday will be in March. I would love to eat a birthday cake to share and celebrate a new year of life with my family. Soccer is the most famous sport in my country, but my favorite is the marathon.
