My Story

This is Rodrigo Sebastian Perez Alvarez, and I am so happy to say hello to you through this. I hope this finds you in good health. I would like to tell you about me. I am thirteen years old. This year I am in 7th grade. I have not been taking face-to-face classes, so I connect through Zoom three days a week. That’s why, I must have internet service in the cellphone; and I also use WhatsApp to communicate to the teacher and my classmates. I must hand in homework at school every week. Let me tell you that I got my nerves altered taking this type of study method, and for me, it is not comfortable to take classes at home. I have missed having the delicious food the feeding program prepared for us. I liked it. For me to get there, I must take twenty minutes by walking. As for my family, let me tell you that, Addan Raul, is my father. He does not live with us, for he made another family. I do not know what he does to earn a living; whenever he can, he gives some economic help to us. Yasmin Yaneth, is my mother. To provide for my family, she sells some homemade snacks, and thanks to it she provides economically for us. At night, my family and I get together, so we have dinner, play jokes, talk and watch movies on the TV. We don’t usually celebrate Christmas. We attend a church called Restoration, to get there, we must walk half an hour. By the pandemic, we got sad, because we were not able to attend to the Bible classes.

The three-room house we live in, is made of mud-brick and cement block. We cook the meals inside a room. The roof is made of tin sheets, and the floor is of concrete. We do not have electricity service, so a neighbor of us, provides it and we pay him for what we use. We do have running water. The house condition is good. I take this time to thank God, LW and you for what we received in the grocery bags among the time we needed it. Let me tell you that my mother was not able to go outside as much as she wanted because of the restrictions, so the snacks she made, were not sold. And, prices from the products rose. So, it was a great help and blessing to us. May God pay you back with blessings! Now, I want to ask you to please pray for us, for food supplies, clothing, shoes, school supplies, and money to pay electricity service are a basic need at home. My family and I are healthy, thankfully. To finish, I tell you that one member from the Evangelism team visited us at home, so my mother provided him updated information about me. I say good bye to you for now.

Lots of love,

Rodrigo Sebastian Perez Alvarez
