My Story

Receive a cordial greeting on behalf of me and my family. My name is Jhenifer, and today, I am so happy to share with you some updated information about us. To start, I want you to know that I am in good health. I am 18 years old, and I am so glad to tell you that I returned to studying this year; I am attending 7th and 8th grade in the same year because it is a school for adults. I have a best friend. Her name is Juanita, and I like to talk to her about everything. We have been friends since we were little. I am glad that we are a Christian family. We are members of Assembly of God Church, and one of the activities I like to attend the most is our thanksgiving service for the harvest. I love Jesus and He is my friend because He is always with me.

Now, I want to tell you how my parents are doing. My father is not working because of his diabetes and neuropathy; he has been assessed by a doctor and takes medicine, but due to his health condition he is not able to work. My mother works hard at home doing the chores and looking after us; she also earns money for our needs by raising hens and turkeys to sell. I love my mother because she is a great person. Fortunately, I have two big brothers that are in the United States, and now they are helping us economically every month. My mother is suffering from cataracts in both eyes. She already has received medical attention, has attended her follow ups and uses some eye drops. They have told her that she needs eye surgery, but we do not have much information about it, so I need you to pray for my parents’ health please. It is hard for me to see my parents sick, but in the middle of this situation, I have felt God’s presence in my life because He ha given me peace. Let me tell you that my mother provided this information. I say goodbye to you with much love, and I hope you are well when you receive this letter. May God bless you, and I will be waiting to hear from you soon.

Kisses and Hugs,

Jhenifer Meliza Riz Tum
