My Story

I fondly greet you through this letter hoping you are doing great with your loved ones. My name is Rolando Tzoy De La Cruz, and I am a happy and healthy 12-year-old boy. I am in second grade this year. I attend face-to-face classes four days a week for three hours each day. I am struggling a little bit to understand the material. I do not have access to the internet. In my free time, I help my dad with work. Also, I wanted to tell you that I have missed attending the feeding center to enjoy the delicious meals and the fun activities.

I live with my father because my mother passed away. My father works as a day laborer and sells various products to take care of our needs. I am happy to say that my whole family is healthy, and that God has been taking care of us. We spend time together by occasionally sharing a snack together. And for Christmas, we usually get invited to my aunt’s house and she gives us sweets, tamales, and punch. We attend a Christian church, and we walk 2 minutes to arrive at the church. We felt sad when the church closed because we could only meet once a month for service. I live in a town called Zacualpa, and it takes me 15 minutes to walk to the feeding center. My humble house has walls made of block and adobe, the roof is made of tin sheet, and the floor is made of cement. There are three rooms and a separate kitchen. We have running water and electricity at home. The house is owned by my family. The condition of the house is stable thankfully. Our family’s finances were affected by COVID-19. My father struggled to sell products throughout the pandemic, so we were making less money. But God has always remained faithful, and we continued forward. Our greatest needs are groceries and clothes. Please, take care of yourself and I hope to hear from you soon. Many blessings!

The Living Waters Evangelism Team is speaking to families in Quiche by phone call. They spoke to my father to receive information pertaining to me.

Kind regards and blessings,

Rolando Tzoy De La Cruz
