My Story

Hello! This is Juan Carlos Cumar De La Cruz, and I am updating you about my family and me. First, I will tell you about my loved ones. My father’s name is Jose. He is 46 years old, and he is in good health. He works as a farmer and day laborer in the town, and he goes to cut sugar cane at the coast during the harvest. My mother’s name is Maria, and she is 35 years old. She is a housewife, and she helps with the income when she sells her domestic animals. We have hens and pigs. I would like to ask you to pray for her since she is having strong chest pains (near her heart), and she has not visited a doctor due to our low resources. We are a humble family, and our greatest needs are groceries. We grow corn for our consumption. Currently, we are members of the Catholic Church, and we attend the mass on Monday. We are sure of our Salvation.

Now, I will tell you a little about me. I am 13 years old, and I am healthy. I am in seventh grade, and I am happy to receive face-to-face classes because it is easier to learn the lessons. It has been difficult for my parents to cover my school expenses this year because I need more school supplies and other things. I want to become a teacher in the future. My favorite celebration is Christmas because we prepare “tamales” in my family. I love drinking Coca-Cola, and I prefer soccer as a sport. I would like to learn English. I enjoy my birthday because I share a cake with my family. Living Water and you are very important in my life because I am blessed in different ways. I hope to have news from you.
