My Story

It is a pleasure to greet you by this letter; God bless you! We appreciate that the LW staff shared the gospel with us and gave us encouraging words to seek God. At the moment, we are not attending church. I am healthy and thank God, my family is too. My father is Pedro, and his age is 52 years old. He makes a living by farming the land and day laboring to supply our family´s needs. My mother is Florencia, and she is 50 years old. She does the household work and raises hens, turkeys and ducks. My father grows corn and black beans for family´s consumption.

I am Alex Elio Garcia Hernandez, and I am a 10-year-old boy. I am attending fourth grade; I am doing well in my studies because I comprehend the lessons that my teacher explains to us. Thankfully, my parents can support me at school. My native language is Quiche dialect, and I would like to learn to speak Spanish because I would like to communicate better with other people. When I am older, I would like to be a policeman. Playing football is so much fun; it is my favorite sport. My favorite beverage is oatmeal because it is delicious. My family celebrates my birthday with a cake; they make me feel so special. I like Christmas time because we eat “tamales” (a typical dish) and we gather with our relatives. I am so grateful to Living Water who provides me with a tasty meal each time I go, and the dental and medical attention; it is a big blessing for me. The greatest needs are corn, black beans and noodles. Hoping to receive news from you soon. Many blessings!
