My Story

I greet you in the name of Jesus and hope you have a blessed and beautiful day. In this opportunity, I want to share some news about my family and me through this letter. First of all, my family and I are grateful to you and to Living Water because thanks to your support I receive medical and dental attention in the clinics. In addition, I have a meal and spiritual support at the Feeding Program. I want to let you know that we continue attending Christian Life Church every Tuesday and Saturday. As a family, we are grateful to the LW evangelism team for their encouraging words to us during the visit, so I am sure of my salvation in Christ. My mother`s name is Rufina Garcia Gutierrez. She is 37 years old. At the moment, she continues doing chores at home and taking care of us. Moreover, she raises hens and sheep to sell an get some income. My father´s name is Santos Gutierrez Garcia. He is 48 years old. Currently, he continues working as a day laborer for 3 or 4 days a week. We grow corn and black beans for our family`s consumption. As a humble family, our current needs are groceries, corn, and clothes. By the grace of God, my family and I are in good health.

My name is Erika Maribel Gutierrez Garcia and I am 19 years old. As you know, I have not been studying for some years, but I continue helping my mother with chores at home. In the future, I want to become a maid. Christmas is my favorite celebration of the year because our custom is to eat “tamales” (a typical dish) and we spend time with my family. I like to drink “atol de masa” (a hot drink made of corn). I do not celebrate my birthday due to a lack of financial resources. I like to ride a bike in my spare time. Thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive through LW Adopt-A-Child every December. May God bless you greatly!
