My Story

Hello and greetings. My name is Jonida Spaholli. I am 39 years old and my birthday is on May 24^th. I am doing well and in good health. My husband died four years ago and since from that time, I have decided to live as widow and dedicate my whole life to raising my daughters on my own. I have two daughters who are 12 and 8 years old. they go to school and are doing well with the lessons. Every morning I walk my youngest daughter to school and go again to take her back in the house. We are renting the apartment in which we live and the rent sometimes becomes a financial burden, still we manage to pay it and close the rest of the expenses of the month. I am jobless and because I live as a widow and have two young children, the local government treats me with a social assistance. This amount is very small and symbolic for what is needed but yet, too useful for us who have not other sources financially. I am registered in the sponsorship program with my daughters and every six weeks we receive food packages. The food provision we receive is a tremendous help for us all. Besides the food packages, we receive spiritual education. I go to the church of the program every Sunday and feel spiritually blessed hearing the Word of God preached from our pastor.

My day starts with bringing the children to school. Till the time they come back, I do some shopping, cooking and cleaning. I also meet with my friends and spend a while conversing. At midday I take the children from school and after lunch, I put them to sit down and study. During the evenings, we like to go out for walks by the lake. Nature is relaxing and we are thankful to live in the town on Pogradec where we can walk by the lake and enjoy the beautiful nature. On Sundays my daughters and I go to the church services. My daughters frequent the Bible classes where they learn about the Lord Jesus.
