My Story

It is a pleasure for me to greet you through this letter and I hope you have a brilliant and blessed day. I want to share some news with you about my family and me. I am Kevin David Morente Calachij and I am 13 years old. I want to let you know that we continue attending Prince of Peace Church twice a week. We are grateful to the LW evangelism team who encouraged my mother during the visit, so we have already accepted Jesus in our hearts. This year I am in 6^th grade at school and I am receiving face-to-face classes every day again. I prefer this study method because I have more time to learn and it is easier to do homework. At the moment, my parents are making an effort to support me at school in spite of the school fees being so expensive and that she does not have a stable job. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn English; I think it is a very important language. In the future, I want to become a good driver. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because my custom is to light fireworks and I have fun. Coca-Cola is my favorite beverage. Among sports, I prefer soccer. What I like to do for my birthday is to eat a little snack with my family. Thank God, my family and I are in good health.

My mother`s name is Gregoria Calachij Chingo. She is 41 years old. Currently, she continues doing chores at home. In addition, she raises hens and pigs to sell and get some income. My father`s name is Victor Manuel Morente Benito. He is 40 years old. Nowadays, he continues living and working in the United States. He earns a living by collecting scrap in order to help us with home expenses. Every month, he sends some money for the family and we have good communication with him. We are a humble family and our current needs are corn and groceries. We are grateful to Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive through LW Adopt-A-Child in December. I hope you like to read my letter.  May God take care of you everywhere you are!
