Pasojoc III
Guatemala
Child
Pasojoc III, where your child lives, is located in an extremely remote area of the mountains in Quiche, Guatemala. Life in this area is very difficult and very isolated from the outside world. It is a 3-hour walk to the nearest market town. The people who inhabit the area are Quiche Mayans who can trace their ancestral roots to the ancient Mayan civilization. They normally speak a Mayan dialect called Quiche; however, Spanish is becoming more common. The climate is basically warm, but it can get very cold at night. Houses in this area are typically constructed of adobe with tin sheet or tile roofs and dirt floors. Pasojoc III is an area rich with natural resources. It is a farming area where the inhabitants grow staples such as corn, beans and other types of vegetables. Many families also raise domestic animals such as sheep, goats, cows and chickens.
Hello, my name is Wilson Brayan Antonio Rodriguez de la Cruz. I was born on August 10, 2020, and I am 4 years old. I am a healthy boy. I am not enrolled at school this year due to my young age. I like to play soccer and toy cars. My favorite color is red, and I love hens. I enjoy eating rice and black beans. I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Two of them are part of the Feeding Program. I want to tell you that I walk to the program about fifteen minutes. We are attending the Charismatic Group which belongs to the Catholic Church. I am under the care of my parents. My father’s name is Francisco Rodriguez Jimon. He lives with us, and he is a healthy man. He provides for our financial needs by working as a farmer. Moreover, he travels to the coast from December to January to pick coffee beans in order to earn some money and cover our financial needs. My mother’s name is Juana de la Cruz Gutierrez. She is a healthy woman. She is a housewife and takes care of the family. In addition, she weaves typical clothes to sell and get some income.
We live in my mother`s house. The house has two rooms and one separated kitchen. Our house is made of adobe, tin sheet roof and dirt floors. I would like to ask for your prayers because a part of the wall of our rooms collapsed due to the winter and the heavy rains, but my father has not been able to repair the walls due to a lack of money. I know God will provide for it soon. We do not have running water, but we get it from a natural spring. One of my uncles gives us electricity, and my father pays for the service every month. As a humble family, our current need are groceries and clothes. We have hens and dogs at home. This is my personal information, and I hope you like to read it. My mother gave this information to the LW evangelism team. I send you all my love!
Kisses and hugs,
Wilson Brayan Antonio Rodriguez de la Cruz
