My Story

It is a pleasure to send my greetings through this and I pray that our Lord is taking care of you! Praise the Lord my family and I attend Catholic Church; we go on Sundays. We believe in God and trust our salvation in Him, but we appreciate so much the encouraging words that LW staff gave us this time. My mother is Marcela Morente Cux, and she is 43 years old. She is a housewife, and she also raises hens, sheep, cows and pigs to sell to contribute with the income. My father is Victoriano Coj Morente, and he is 44 years old. He is employed as a day laborer and is the one who supplies the family´s needs. At home, we harvest lemon, corn and black beans for the family's consumption. My family and I are in good health, thanks to the Lord.

I am Maria Roxanna Coj Morente, and my current age is 12 years old. I attend 6^th grade; I receive classes at school which is helping my learning. This year, it was challenging for my parents to register me at school and buy the uniforms; they did not have enough income to supply everything. I wish to help my family economically; I would like to travel to the United States later. English it is a very interesting language, so I would like to learn it. At home, we buy a cake to celebrate our birthdays; I love it. Christmas is my favorite celebration of the year; I light some firecrackers and my family, and I enjoy “tamales y ponche” (a typical dish and hot fruit punch). Basketball is the sport I like the most. My favorite drink is oatmeal, which is delicious. Being part of Living Water has blessed my life with the tasty meals I receive in the program, and it is so helpful for me and my family. My family needs groceries and clothes. I send much love.
