My Story

It is such a blessing to greet you through this letter. This is Damaris Adriana Hernandez Ordonez and I am 11 years old. I hope you are doing well, in the name of Jesus. Fortunately, I am in good health and I like the cold weather because it is perfect to wear my favorite warm clothes. I am in fourth grade and I usually wash the dishes or do other chores to help my mother a little. Luckily, my whole family is doing well. My mother is a single parent and works hard as a domestic employee to bring food home. Because of her work, she travels to Guatemala City, so my grandmother is the one who takes care of my siblings and me. We attend the Catholic church and the holy mass helps us to persevere at church. We do our best to follow the commandments in order to go to heaven.

Brother Emanuel (a member of the LW staff) recently encouraged my mother to continue believing in God and looking for him, which my mother appreciated. He took advantage of the opportunity to collect all this information for you. I have attended the feeding program for about two years, which has been a great blessing. My mother felt motivated to take me there because of the food, medical and dental care that I can receive for free. It is time to say goodbye, but I hope to hear from you soon.
