My Story

Many blessings for you! I am excited to tell you about my life through this letter. Before starting, let me tell you that my mother helped me to write this for you. My full name is Oscar Yadiel Ramos Natareno, and I am 10 years old. I am in fourth grade at school. I have classes in the morning. I usually have a lot of homework to do on weekends. However, I also rest a little and play with my brother. My mom is a hardworking woman who does her best for our family since my father passed away. To cover our needs and expenses, she makes and sells rellenitos de platano (Guatemalan traditional dessert made of mashed plantains filled with sweet black beans, served drizzled with sugar) and chiles rellenos (Guatemalan food made of sweet peppers filled with a mixture of beef and vegies, served drizzled with tomato sauce). She also raises hens for our consumption.

Fortunately, we are all in good health. My family and I attend New Jerusalem Christian Church. My mom accepted Jesus there many years ago. Nowadays, she has the privilege of leading the services or doing the reading of the day. I ask you to pray for my whole family and me. In advance, thank you so much. Let me tell you that I enjoy attending the feeding program because I can eat fried chicken. That is my favorite food. I would like to serve as a volunteer at LW because helping the staff catches my attention. My mom and I are grateful to LW-Adopt a Child because this project has blessed me with an annual Christmas gift. I also have medical and dental care. I can receive medicine for free! Besides that, the staff encourages us to continue trusting in God and our salvation. I say goodbye to you for now, but I enjoyed letting you know about my news. See you later!

Kisses and hugs,

Oscar Yadiel Ramos Natareno
