My Story

Hi! I greet you cordially and hope you have a brilliant and beautiful day with your loved ones.  I want to share a little about my family and me in this opportunity. My mother`s name is Claudia Ruiz Castro. She is 40 years old. Currently, she continues doing chores at home and takes care of the family. Moreover, she sells “yuca cocida” (cooked yucca), (a special kind of root-like potatoes) in the local plaza. In addition, she raises hens and pigs at home. My father´s name is Vicente Riz Ruiz.  He is 38 years old. He continues working as a farmer and day laborer in order to support us financially. As a humble family, our current needs are corn and groceries. Currently, we continue attending the Christian Church every Saturday. We are grateful to the LW evangelism team for their encouraging words to my mother during the visit. So, she is sure of her salvation in Jesus and to go to heaven someday. By the grace of God, my family and I are in good health.

I am Walter Josue Danilo Riz Ruiz. I am 11 years old. This year I am in 4th grade at school. I receive face-to-face classes every day and I am learning a lot with this study method. At the moment, my parents are making an effort to support me at school in spite of the school fees being so expensive and that they do not have a stable job. Sometimes, it is very difficult to cover every expense due to a lack of economic resources. My dream is to work as a farmer. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn Spanish in order to improve my communication with others. What I like to drink is “Incaparina” (a hot beverage made of corn soy flour). For my birthday I like to eat delicious food for lunch and share it with my family. Among sports, I prefer soccer. My family is grateful to Living Water because I receive the meals, medical and dental attention, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that you sent to me at the end of the year. May God bless you richly and protect you everywhere you are!

Lots of love,

Walter Josue Danilo Riz Ruiz
