Hello!
I am so happy to greet you through this letter. My name is Anderson Daniel Morente Gomez, and I am thirteen years old. I am in seventh grade, so I receive face-to-face classes and hand in homework to the teacher from Monday to Friday. Besides that, I use WhatsApp to receive extra school information, and because of that, my parents top up the phone with internet plans. Thankfully, I am doing a good job because my learning has improved. After school, I do homework and help my mother to do some chores. The feeding program closed its doors for several months due to the virus, and I missed going there. Fortunately, it is open again, and I enjoy eating delicious lunches. The program is a 40-minute walk from where I live. My father still works as a day laborer or farmer and travels to cut sugar cane at the coast to support our family. My mother also works hard at home doing chores and raising domestic animals for sale. Fortunately, my family and I are in good health. We spend good moments together in the afternoon, and when there is a little money, we take advantage of that to buy soda and sweet bread to enjoy at home.
Christmas is the most beautiful time of the year, but we do not celebrate it as many other people usually do; we only prepare a lunch to share and thank God for his mercy. We are members of the Prince of Peace Church; it is a 20-minute walk from our home. We could not attend it for a long time due to the virus and felt worried about it. Nowadays, it is open again and works as usual. We live in our own house, which is made of adobe walls, tin sheet roof, and cement floors. It has two rooms, a separate kitchen, electricity, and running water. Fortunately, it is in good condition. I want you to know that Covid-19 affected my father’s work, but we could have the essential products to survive, despite the sanitary emergency. Nowadays, everything is expensive, so our necessities are clothes and groceries. Finally, let me tell you that my mother gave this information to an evangelism team member to share with you my last news. I say goodbye to you now, but I hope you find my update interesting.
Lots of kisses and hugs,
Anderson Daniel Morente Gomez
