My Story

Hello! I am Artenisa Golemi and I am very happy to share with you about myself and my family. I am 7 years old and my birthday is on June. My favorite color is pink and my future dream is to become a medical doctor. I have also specified in my dreams that I like to become a genecology doctor so I can help moms delivers babies. I go to primary school and enjoy learning and gaining education. My favorite subject at school is language and I enjoy doing lots of reading. Besides learning, I enjoy school because of the good time that I spend there engaging with my class friends. We meet and play and we have lot of fun. After school, I usually like to stay longer outside and at present I started to ride my bicycle around. I get together with my friends who have their bicycles and we cycle around, on the roads close to our houses. I try to do my best and offer myself where needed to help my mother and grandparents while I am in the house. I help my mother with cleaning and go to get whatever my grandparents need to have close to them. I live in a village near the town of Prrenjas. We can reach quickly to this town, even that we need transportation. I have five members in my family who are my father, mother and grandparents. My grandparents are both old and have retired from their previous jobs. Their pensions are small and my parents supply their living needs. My father and mother work in the land we own as family. They plant in the fields in order to provide as much food as possible so that we buy less in the shop. We have several goats and raise them to profit milk and diary. My mother and grandmother usually plant vegetables for consumption in front of our house, in a small portion of land. We have also a few fruit trees around our land and garden. My father tries his best to work elsewhere, like when he gets offered a joy in construction or agriculture, but he has not been able to work for a long period of time. The job opportunities are very limited especially for people who live in the villages. At present we face poverty and our needs are a lot. I am very thankful to the program for the physical and spiritual help offered. I frequent regularly the Bible classes of the program and constantly I receive food packages. We receive also dental care and I am waiting to be called to go to the dentist to check on my teeth. Thank you for your care and God bless you!
