My Story

I hope you are having a blessed day with your loved ones; God bless you! We do not attend any church; in this opportunity LW staff shared the gospel with us and encouraged us to look for a church to attend and seek God. We appreciate so much that they are worried about our spiritual life; we are going to think about accepting Jesus in our hearts. We are fine at home even though one of my sisters suffers from mental retardation; she is quite well. My father is Enrique Pol Luis, and he is 55 years old. He works as a day laborer in our village to supply our home needs. Moreover, he grows corn for our consumption. My mother is Maria Tzoc Luis, and she is 53 years old. She works hard at home, and she also raises hens and pigs to sell if we have some need.

I am Juana Cecilia Pol Tzoc, and I am a 20-year-old girl. Since I suffer from mental retardation, so I stay at home most of the time. I look after our domestic animals and feed them. I speak the K'iche´ Mayan dialect as my native language and have some knowledge of Spanish. However, I would like to enhance my proficiency in Spanish to communicate better with others. The sport I like the most is football. I like firecrackers; I light some of them at Christmas time. I like sodas, especially Coca-Cola which is my favorite one. I like eating cake, and my family buys one to celebrate my birthday. Being part of the feeding program is a great support for me and my family since I receive my meals and medical care in the LW clinics. At home, the top priorities are groceries and corn. Every kind of blessing to you!

Warm regards,

Juana Cecilia Pol Tzoc
