My Story

I greet you affectionately, and it is a blessing for me to greet you. I hope you are well and blessed by our almighty God. My name is Hilda Elizabeth Ruiz de la Cruz. I am 17 years old, and my birthday is on June 23rd. As you may know, I have not been studying since many years ago, so I stay at home and help with the chores. It is a blessing for me to be part of the feeding program. I missed the food a lot while it was closed, but thankfully, I can attend it again, and I walk 30 minutes to be there. At the same time, I want to express my gratitude for the grocery parcels we received because they were a huge blessing for us to have something to eat, and I know it was possible thanks to your support.  My mother is a housewife. She also raises chickens and when they are big enough to sell, she does it to have an income. My sister is a soloist. She sings Christian songs, and she receives many invitations from other churches to go sing. She receives an economic offering and with this, she contributes with our expenses. My mother goes with her. I enjoy spending family time, and we usually do it every week; we have a special lunch.

My mother prepares a hen, and we have a good time all together. We live in our own two-room house which is made of adobe walls with tin sheet roof, dirt floor, running water, and electricity; it has a separated kitchen. Sadly, the roof is in bad condition since the tin sheets are deteriorated and have holes. I ask your prayers for us for God to help us to fix this, and also to have enough groceries to supply our needs. Our economy is being affected because the prices of basic items increased due to the pandemic. We do not celebrate Christmas; this is something we do not do in our church. We are still members of King of the Centuries Church, and we walk 15 minutes to arrive there. My sister has the privilege of singing here, and we were glad that our church did not close in 2020 when the pandemic started because we had the opportunity to attend services for an hour. I want to share with you that my mother gave this information by phone to one of the Evangelism teachers that called her. I say goodbye to you with much love and affection, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Many Blessings
