My Story

Hello! My name is Paola Golemi. I am 14 years old and my birthday is on December 24th. I am doing well and in good health. My favorite color is pink and my future dream is to become teacher. I finished on June the 8th grade of school and enjoyed learning. My favorite subject during this recent year of school was History. Schools close for the summer till September. At present, I meet to play or fellowship with my friends. We get together early in the mornings and late during the evenings, before it gets dark because in my country, the summers are hot. We stay inside during the middays and I spend this time of the day to help my mother with the housekeeping. I am helping her early in the mornings as well, when she sweeps the floors and mops them. I also un dust the furniture, chairs, tables, etc. We have not the possibility to spend summer holidays away from home but from time to time, we as family travel to the towns that are close and enjoy a day outside the village, walking around the markets of the town, roads, we see the lake and visit the parks. My family contains six persons. We live in Kotodesh and our house offers appropriated living conditions. The persons that contain our family are my father, mother, my three sisters and I. Two of my sisters are matured and my other sister is 17 years old.  She is also registered in the program. My father emigrates in Greece and he stays in this country for three months. He is working in agriculture and sometimes he can work there for six months within the year. When he works for six months, he provides a better income for us. My father has his own car that he travels to Greece, to his job as well as he uses that when he is in Albania and when we travel to the town. My father plants in our family land wheat, corn and alfalfa, oat, etc. We have a cow and both my parents plant in the land to provide food that it consumes, especially during winter, while we keep it inside. At present, my mother takes the cow out in the fields to be feed. We benefit milk, butter, cheese raising the cow and every year, my father sells the cow and uses the income to buy more food or whatever is most needed.  My mother and matured sisters plant vegetables in our garden for consumption. Around our land, we have fruit trees. We collect these fruits and my mother makes jam and fruit juice that we are consuming during winter. She fills jars with preserved vegetables as well to be kept and consumed during winter. My sister and I frequent the program of Kotodesh constantly. We are blessed with food packages every six weeks and enjoy learning in the Bible classes about the Lord and His love for us. During the summer, we will have a lot of different activities to participate and will enjoy a good time at the program. Thank you for your generous care and God bless you.
