Tunajá
Guatemala
Child
Tunajá is a very primitive area of the state of Quiché, Guatemala. The inhabitants are Quiché Indians who trace their ancestral roots to the ancient Mayan civilization. The prevalent language is the Indian dialect - Quiché. The people are either farmers or shepherds and live off the fruits of their labors. Very little money ever changes hands as they use a barter system. Public education is available - however, most families cannot afford it. Electricity and running water are not available in most of the area. Life in Tunajá is extremely difficult.
How great is to greet you by this update! I am Sheyli Marisol Chingo Cux, and I feel glad to share with you something about me. As I am younger, my mother gave this information to the LW team just for you. I am a six-year-old child. I was born on January 23, 2018. My health is good thanks to God. My hobby is to play with dolls. Pigeons are my favorite animals. My favorite color is pink. I love roasted chicken. I do not attend school yet. I have three sisters and their names are Olga, Irma and Wendy. They are all part of the feeding program. We walk together for 20 minutes to arrive at the program.
I live happily with my parents. Their names are Felix Chingo Garcia and Martina Cux Ramos. My father traveled to The United States 8 months ago. He keeps in touch with us and sends our support every month. He is working there in a nursery. My mother keeps busy with the housework and taking care of us. About their health, my father is well, but my mother has been suffering from nervous gastritis for 6 years more or less. She only takes natural medicine. At the moment, we are not members of any church, but I hope my parents can take the decision soon.
We are currently living in my paternal grandmother's house. Thankfully, we do not pay anything for rent. The house has two rooms, and a separate kitchen. It is made of adobe and block, tin sheet roof and cement floor. We have the main services like running water and electricity. My mom pays the electricity every month and shares the water expense with my relatives. She usually pays Q50.00 = $ 6.67 every year. I would like you to join us in prayer because my parents are struggling to earn some money to build our own house. Well, this is all I have for you now. I am grateful that you are interested in me. Thank you for your love. I pray the Lord blesses you and your whole family.
Best regards,
Sheyli Marisol Chingo Cux
