My Story

I fondly greet you from the beautiful Quiche mountains. How are you doing? This is Herber Josue Jesus Calel Bartolo and it is such a pleasure to tell you that I am a healthy boy. I am 6 years old and I attend kindergarten. I have attended the feeding program for about two years. What I like the most about participating in the bible classes is listening to the stories about Jesus. At church, I like participating in the activities they hold for children. My family and I are members of the Pentecostal Prince of Peace Church. We feel motivated to go there because we can worship God and listen to his word through the scriptures. I tell you that my mother recognizes herself as God’s daughter because she accepted Him as her Lord and savior.

Today, she is a healthy woman who does her best to support our family as a single parent. Her main source of income is selling chickens and turkeys that she raises, although she also washes clothes for other people occasionally. She enrolled my brother and me in LW-Adopt A Child because she wanted us to enjoy delicious food as she did when she was a teenage girl. What she liked the most was the Christmas activities like having a special lunch. I tell you that I do not have my biological father with me because he abandoned us about two years ago. Please pray for my family so that God provides us with all we need and keeps us healthy. To end this letter, I want you to know that my mother is grateful to LW for all the blessings that we have received, especially for the spiritual assistance. Sister Sandra (a member of the evangelism team) recently encouraged her to keep going in her faith. Until next time!
