My Story

Hello! This is Maria Cristina Gonzalez Pichiya and I fondly greet you, hoping the grace of the Lord be with you and your loved ones. I turn 15 years old in September and I am in good health. I am dedicated to helping my mother with the chores, like looking for firewood. I stopped attending school a couple of years ago because my parents do not have enough resources to support my education. We have been passing through a hard economic situation, but I trust that God will help us. Thanks to LW-Adopt A Child, my siblings and I have received food and medical attention for free. I have attended the feeding program for a long time and what I like the most is praying after finishing the Bible lesson, which I receive before having my meals. My parents felt motivated to enroll me in the feeding program because our neighbors and relatives gave them good comments about this organization.

I want to use this opportunity to express the gratitude that my mother feels to LW for being on the lookout for our spiritual life. Sister Sandra (a member of the LW staff) recently encouraged my mother to keep going in her faith since she is assured about her salvation. We are members of Liberty Church and like going there to learn more about God. I kindly ask you to pray for my mother's health since she suffers from body pains. To mitigate the issues, she takes pain killers. She is a very busy housewife and strives to contribute to the household expenses by selling chickens that she raises. She sometimes washes clothes for other people to earn extra money. As for my father, I tell you that he makes a living as a farmer and day laborer. It is time to say goodbye, but I send you many kisses and hugs.
