My Story

I am so happy to get in touch with you through this. I hope this finds you doing well. I am Anderson Bladimir Garcia Rodriguez, and I am fifteen years old. This year do not attend school after having studied 8th grade last year. I did not like to study in a virtual way. I did not understand the explanations I received by phone. Now, I help someone who is paid to carry things from one place to another. I also help my father making fried food to sell at home. The thing I missed from the feeding program was the delicious food and attending it. For me to get there, it takes ten minutes by walking. My father makes different types of fried foods to sell in the markets, stadiums or places where he is allowed to sell. My mom helps my dad with the fried foods. They make this food very early in the morning to go outside and sell it. Sometimes, this food is not sold. Dinner is the time we can talk because most of the time, my parents are selling this food. We do not usually celebrate Christmas due to the lack of resources, so a neighbor gives tamales (Guatemala typical food) to us.

At the moment, we are not attending any church. We own a two-room house made of cement block, dirt floor and tin sheet roof. There are many leaks on the roof, so it has nylon to prevent our belongings from getting wet. The house does have electricity, but no running water, so a neighbor provides it to us every two days. The pandemic affected my family´s economy. My parents did not sell much, so we had lack of food, and therefore needs at home. Clothing, shoes and food supplies are great needs at home, so I take this time to thank the feeding program for the grocery bags we received in that difficult time. It was all a great help and blessing for my family and me. We are so grateful for your love towards us. As for health, let me tell you that my mom is sick with diabetes. She already visited a doctor and is under a medical treatment. The rest of us are doing well. Lastly, I want you to know that my mom gave this information in person to an Evangelism team member who visited us at home to share with you my last news. I was glad to get in touch with you through this. I say goodbye to you for now.

My best regards,

Anderson Bladimir Garcia Rodriguez
