My Story

Hello! My name is Selmina Piperi. I am 10 years old and my birthday is on October 30th. I am doing well and in good health. My favorite color is pink and my future dream is to become a medical doctor. I like to spend my free time playing with my dolls and watch cartoons on TV. My favorite cartoon is Cinderella. I go to the fourth grade at school and enjoy learning. My favorite subject that I enjoy to study is Math. When I return in the house after school, I help my mother by carrying for my oldest sister who has autism. We play together building houses with cubes and she colors the drawings that I do for her. I try to help my mother by going to the groceries shop to get few items that she needs.

My family and I live in the town of Pogradec. My father has died. I have a brother and a sister and my mother has to care and supply the needs of us all. My brother is fifteen years old and my sister is matured. We receive a pension that children with one parent receive as governmental social support. My sister is also receiving an invalid pension. My mother can’t work because she needs to stay at home and care for my sister who has different abilities and has special needs. We live with low income even that my mother receives amount dedicated to us as orphans and to my sister with autism. I have started to frequent the Living Water church in Pogradec together with my mother and sister. My mother and older sister stays in the services and in the same time, I go to the Bible classes for smallest children where I learn about the Lord Jesus. I benefit every six weeks food packages from the Adopt a Child programme and I am very thankful for the provision of food delivered to us. My sister is as well registered in the programme and she is also getting her food parcel. We are thankful as family to the progrmme of Adopt a Child for the spiritual and physical care that we gain. Thank you for your support and God bless you!
