Zona 5, where your child lives, is located in a slum area of Guatemala City. An extremely poor area, our program is squeezed in among the shanty dwellings built over an old city dump. Many houses in this area are without toilets or running water and are assembled with scrap wood, sheet metal, and cardboard. Zone 5, is considered one of the most dangerous areas of Guatemala City. It is controlled by gangs and drug pushers. Robberies and murders are common in this area. Public education is available - however, many cannot afford it. Life in Zone 5 is very difficult. This child lives on top of an old rubbish dump in Zone 5 of Guatemala City.
Hello! My name is Angel Estuardo de la Cruz Argueta. I attend the Zone 5 feeding program. I was born on October 18th, 2009. I am nine years old and I am in good health. I am attending second grade at school. In my free time, I like to play little car toys and soccer. My favorite color is red, and my favorite animal is the cow. I love to eat potatoes. I have one brother and one sister. My father Miguel Angel abandoned us when I was three years old. We do not have any communication or receive financial help. We just know that he has a new family. My mother Blanca Patricia works by washing clothes for others. Besides that, she has established a new relationship with Don Ernesto Arreaga who works by carrying heavy packages for others in a local market. I have a good relationship with my stepfather. We live in a rented concrete block room with a tin sheet roof and granite floors. There is electricity, but we get the water off from a public faucet. We attend a Christian Church called Trees of Justice.
With much love and many blessings,
Angel Estuardo de la Cruz Argueta
