My Story

Hello! I am sending this letter just for you. This is Keila Elizabeth, and I greet you in Jesus’ name hoping you are doing well. We have accepted Jesus in our hearth, and we are members of the Catholic Church; we attend the mass twice a week. My father works as a mechanic in a nearby town to support the family. His name is Jose, and he is 36 years old. My mother works as a weaver. Her name is Isabel, and she is 30 years old. Thankfully, they both are healthy. We are a humble family, and our greatest needs are groceries and clothes. We have hens at home, but we do not sow crops because we do not have a piece of land for it.

I am healthy, and I am 15 years old. This year, I am attending 8th grade, and I prefer face-to-face classes because the teacher explains better, and it is easier to learn the lessons. Everything is more expensive now, so it has been difficult for my parents to cover my school expenses. My dream is to become a lawyer, and I would like to learn English language. My favorite sport is volleyball, and I love drinking “mosh” (hot beverage made from oats). I enjoy my birthday because I receive a cake. Christmas celebration is nice for me because I share time with my family, and we eat “tamales”. Living Water is a great blessing for me because we are supported with delicious lunches through the feeding program. I say goodbye to you for now hoping to have news from you soon.

Kisses and hugs
