Before anything else I would like to express to you my gratitude for being my sponsors and blessing me through Living Water I walk for five minutes to arrive to the feeding program. I am Emersson Jordany but everybody affectionately calls me Emer. I am 8 years old and I had my birthday in July. I take classes in my village and I am a first-grade student. My school is about five minutes away from my home. I love drawing class but Quiche Language is a little difficult for me. At the moment, we are receiving study guides to do as homework, and I send it to the teacher or he comes to my home to receive it once a week. I help to shepherd our sheep in my free time.
The people who live in the house are my mother, stepfather, siblings and me. My mother’s duties are taking care of us and doing the housework. She used to sell her weavings but the sales are not good due to the pandemic so she had to stop doing it. I want to tell you that my father left to go to the United States again but he is not helping us financially. Now, my mother established a new relationship with Mr. Miguel Tecun and he is now covering our needs; he works as a farmer. We are not attending a church. I am grateful to God because we all are in good health. In spite of the hard health situation that we are currently facing in our country, our Lord has been taking care of us. We are praying for your family and for all the world. We trust in our Lord's mercy and that He will put His healing hands over all people who are suffering during this pandemic. I would like to receive a letter from you and have the opportunity to share our life experiences with each other.
Thinking of you!
Emersson Jordany Garcia Tino
AAC NOTE: After the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in our country (March 13, 2020), our President ordered the closure of all the schools in order to prevent children becoming affected by this virus. We do not know when the schools will open again. However, most of the schools are assigning homework to their students to cover the content for the current school year. As a team, we are praying that God takes control of this situation soon so that we may continue on with our lives.
