My Story

I am Maria Fernanda, and it is a blessing for me to greet you through this update. I hope everything is going well in your life. Let me tell you that my family and I still attend the Catholic Church every Sunday in our town. I am grateful to LW because a teacher of the evangelism team shared the gospel with my mother and encouraged her to continue growing spiritually. He also took advantage of collecting all my news for you. My mother, Ana Maria Diego, is 33 years old. Since my father abandoned our family, my mother has done her best to support our family. She makes a living in a tortilleria business in Dueñas. By the Almighty’s grace, none of us has gotten sick so far. We need groceries and clothes at home. Taking advantage of this moment, I want you to know that LW is tremendously important for my family and me. We have received so much help, especially in the most challenging moments. We do not have many domestic animals at home. We only have a lovely dog.

Now, I want you to know that I am in fifth grade. I agree to receive face-to-face classes because I enjoy learning new lessons and making new friends. Unfortunately, our economic situation makes it hard to cover my school supplies. Besides that, my mother has to pay demanding bills at home. I would love to become a teacher and speak English when I am older. Therefore, I would love to count on your prayers for my family and me. My favorite holiday is summer because I can stay outside my home and play. I love drinking Coca-Cola and soccer is my favorite sport. I am eleven years old, and my birthday was in June. Despite our economic situation, my mother strives to celebrate birthdays; she saves some money to prepare a special lunch. I say goodbye to you for now, but I send you many kisses and hugs, hoping to hear from you soon.

With much love,

Maria Fernanda Marroquin Diego
