Hello! How are you? I hope you are in good health together with your loved ones. My name is Edwin Ramiro Morente Garcia, and I am a happy and healthy 11-year-old boy. I am in fourth grade this year. I have face-to-face classes every weekday and I turn in my assignments to my teacher. I struggled to understand my assignments during COVID-19. In my free time, I help my father tend to our corn field. I love attending the feeding program to enjoy the delicious meals.
Both of my parents live with me. My father works as a farmer and day laborer to support us economically. My mother is a hardworking housewife and is a shepherdess for cows and sheep. I have 7 siblings: 3 brothers and 4 sisters. I am joyful to say that we are all healthy and that God has taken care of us. We spend time together by having conversations and thanking God for a new day. During Christmastime, we make tamales, cake, and fruit punch and enjoy them as a family. Also, we attend a Catholic church, which takes us 1 hour to walk to. My parents are in charge of this church. The church closed for 6 months due to COVID-19 and then reopened. I live in a village called Pasojoc, and it takes me 10 minutes to walk to the feeding center. My humble house has walls made of adobe, the roof is made of tiles, and the floor is made of dirt. There are two rooms and a separate kitchen. We have electricity at home, and obtain water by connecting a hose to a natural water source. The house belongs to my family. Thankfully our house’s condition is stable. Our family’s finances were affected by COVID-19 because the cost of many necessary products increased and became more difficult to afford, but God has always been faithful to us and we have continued forward. Our greatest needs are corn and groceries. Please, take care of yourself and I hope to hear from you soon. Many blessings!
The Living Waters Evangelism Team is speaking to families in Quiche by phone call. They spoke to my father to receive information pertaining to me.
