My Story

Hello, my name is Pedro Lux Simaj. It is a pleasure to greet you through this short update today. I pray many blessings over you, and I hope you are well as you read this. I know God brought you to my profile for a purpose. Thankully, I am in good health. My family is also well. I am fifteen years old now. I don’t go to school anymore because I didn’t want to continue studying. I stay home now and help shepherd my grandparents’ sheep. We have lived with my grandparents for three years now, and they are like my mom and dad. We live with them because my mom moved to the United States three years ago. Her name is Tomasa Simaj. She works in a restaurant in the states and sends money back to us. My dad’s name is Diego Lux, but he abandoned out family many years ago, and we don’t know anything about him anymore. That is why we live with my grandparents. Their names are Pedro Garcia (grandpa) and Florencia Hernandez (grandma). They are in good health, and they work hard to provide for us. My grandpa works as a farmer and paid laborer. My grandma stays home and takes care of us and the housework. She also takes care of the animals. She has sheep and cows, and she sells them sometimes to make extra money for our family. I love going out to work with my grandpa in the corn fields. He works hard and teaches me about what he does. He is a very important person to me.

My mom keeps in contact with us, and she sends money for us, but it is not a lot. Only enough to cover some of our expenses. She still has debts that she has to pay from when she traveled to the U.S. She also suffers from gastritis, so she gets medicine sent to her from here. I pray she will be healed from this, because I don’t want anything bad to happen to her. We don’t go to church as a family, but I know who Jesus is. He is the Lord who lives in heaven. And I know God is the one who has taken care of me in every moment. I am also very grateful for my best friend. His name is Alberto. We have been friends for years. We love to play soccer together. I love going to the feeding program each week because we receive a delicious plate of food. I hope you will decide to support this program. I know God will bless you for your heart and love towards us. I send much love and big hugs.
