My Story

Hello, I am Maria Magdalena! It is a privilege to tell you about my life through this means. I hope this finds you having a fantastic day. My family and I attend Liberty Church on Tuesdays. My mother, Margarita Tzoy, is 35 years old. She is a housewife and helps my grandmother to look after her domestic animals. My grandma, Catarina, has sheep to sell when they are older. Since my father passed away, my grandfather Tereso Tzoy has been the one who supports our family. He makes a living as a farmer and day laborer. Besides that, he grows corn for our consumption. He is as healthy as is the rest of my family and me. Now, let me tell you that I am fifteen years old and I would like to make a living as a weaver. Nowadays, I am doing my best as a fifth grader. The face-to-face classes are the best because I learn the lessons so much better.

My grandfather is 75 years old, but despite his age, he does his best to cover our needs. However, it has been hard for him since everything is expensive. My favorite holiday is Christmas because of the tasty tamales. I love drinking mosh (a typical hot beverage) and playing soccer. I am a K’iche native speaker and I would love learning how to speak Spanish. I will have my birthday in December. What I love the most is having a delicious cake to celebrate with my family. To end this letter, I want you to know that LW is a meaningful project. It has helped us both materially and spiritually. A teacher of the evangelism team spoke with my grandfather to collect this information for you. She also encouraged our family through him to continue trusting in Jesus, our Savior.
