My Story

Hello! It is a blessing to greet you through this letter. My name is Elington Ovidio, and I hope you are doing well. Let me tell you that my family and I attend a Christian Church on Sundays. God has always been faithful with us. Proof of that, my youngest brother and I are part of the feeding program. This is a meaningful project because we have received delicious food, especially in the challenging moments. We are grateful to a member of the LW staff because she shared the gospel with my mom and me. This happened while my mom and I provided her with this information to update you about my life. My father, Mario Cu Choc, is 43 years old. Unfortunately, he is unemployed. To cover our needs and expenses, our relatives, on my father’s side, helps us a little bit economically. My mom, Rosa Can Sub, is 40 years old. She works hard by making tortillas for other people to help at home with her income. However, she does not earn enough. Some of our greatest needs are groceries and some school supplies for next year. When my father ran out of work, he could not buy some supplies like notebooks to me. Fortunately, my parents and brother are in good health. As for pets, I want you to know that we have two lovely cats at home.

I am an 11-year-old healthy boy. I attended school as a fourth grader. I prefer to receive face-to-face classes because it is the best study method. I want to continue studying to become a doctor. I also would love to speak English. My favorite holiday is Christmas because I love spending time with my family and having tamales. I like drinking typical atoles, and my favorite sport is soccer. When my birthday comes, I love having delicious Pepian (it is a typical casserole made with chicken, meat, or pork stewed in a spicy sauce of toasted spices and roasted tomato), prepared by my mom, to celebrate with my family.
