My Story

I am so happy to greet you through this letter. My full name is Marta Herlinda Mendez Gutierrez, and I hope you like my information. I am a healthy 5-year-old girl. Because of my age, I do not attend school yet. So, a teacher of the LW evangelism team helped my mom and me write this letter to you. My favorite pastime is playing with my youngest brother. I also like playing with my ball. My father is a hardworking farmer. He does his best to support our family economically. As for my mom, let me tell you that she dedicates her full time to looking after my brother and me. She also raises hens for our consumption. We do not have our own house. So, we live with my grandparents at their house and share the expenses with them. My grandfather works as a farmer and day laborer. He usually travels to the coast to cut sugar cane. My grandmother is a housewife. They are my grandparents on the side of my mom. My whole family and I grow and harvest corn for our consumption. Thankfully, there is nobody sick at home.

I want you to know that LW has blessed me so much with tasty food. My favorite food is fried chicken. I can have it for lunch at the feeding program. Last year, I celebrated Christmas at LW alongside many children. My favorite part of the party was listening to the lovely Christmas songs. To end this letter, let me tell you that my family and I attend the Catholic Church. I am glad because my parents accepted Jesus as their Savior many years ago. She appreciates the encouraging words that a teacher of the LW staff gave her to continue seeking God. She is sure about her salvation. Thank you so much for reading my letter!
