Hello! My name is Magdalena Chingo Garcia, and I am glad to introduce myself to you through this. I am twelve years old. This year I am in fourth grade and taking face-to-face classes at school three or four days a week. In those days, I hand in my schoolwork. Learning the topics from all the classes has turned difficult to me. I help my sister doing the household work. I am happy that the program is open again. In the time it was closed due to the pandemic, I missed having tasty lunch. The program is located ten minutes away by a three-wheel motorcycle. My dad does farm work to provide economically for my family. My mom works making tortillas in a tortilla stand in Joyabaj. My grandmother takes care of us when my mom is not at home. In the afternoons, we especially enjoy eating homemade snacks when my mom is back from work.
My family and I celebrated Christmas making and eating tamales with the family only. At the moment, we are not attending any church due to the lack of time. We own a small house with one room. It does have a separate kitchen. The house is made of adobe, tin sheets roof and dirt floor. It does have running water and electricity. The house is in good condition. The pandemic did affect my family. There was lack of food, and food supplies are needs at home. Since God is faithful, we could go through this difficult time. I thank the feeding program for the grocery bags we received in those moments. It was all a great help for us. May God bless all of you! I pray that God pays you back in a great way. My family and I are all doing well at the moment. To finish, I want to tell you that my grandmother gave this information to an Evangelism team member to share with you my last news. I say goodbye to you for now. Thank you for reading this!
Lots of affection,
Magdalena Chingo Garcia
