My Story

Hello! It is a pleasure to greet you by this letter. In this opportunity, I want to share some news about my family and me. My mother`s name is Deisy Elizabeth Mejia Gomez. She is 33 years old. At the moment, she continues doing chores at home and taking care of the family. As you know, my father abandoned the family some years ago, so my stepfather Santos Arevalo Garcia, who is 32 years old, is working hard to support the family. He left for the United States, and now, he lives and works there. He works in a restaurant as a kitchen helper. Thankfully, we have good communication with him, and he sends us some money to help with home expenses. Our current needs are groceries and corn because we are a humble family. Nowadays, we are attending the Catholic Church regularly. Thank you to the LW evangelism team who shared the gospel with my mother during the visit and for their encouraging words. I ask for your prayers for my health because I have some problems with my memory due to a high fever that I suffered when I was 2 years old. My brain was affected and now I have problems learning at school. I cannot remember the things what I learn. Fortunately, I am going to visit the LW doctor to get some medical treatment. Thank God, the rest of my family is in good health.

My name is Zuri Alexia Montejo, and I am 9 years old. This year, I am in 2nd grade at school.  I am receiving face-to-face classes every day, and I like this study method because I receive a good explanation about topics. Thank God, my stepfather is making an effort to support my brother and me at school. My dream is to become a doctor. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn English; I think this is a very interesting language. Christmas is a celebration that I enjoy because I receive some gifts from my family. My favorite beverages are milk and chocolate.  What I like about my birthday is to have a cake and special food for lunch with my family.  My family and I are grateful to Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental, and spiritual support. Thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive every end of the year. I hope you like to read my letter. May God bless you greatly!

Lots of love,

Zuri Alexia Montejo
