My Story

Hello! I would like first of all to thank you for taking the time to read my letter. I am Wenceslao Angel Pastor Hernandez. I am 12 years old and I want to share a little about my family and me through this letter. My mother`s name is Rosa Hernandez Benito. She is 47 years old. Nowadays, she continues doing chores at home. In addition, she is raising hens and pigs to sell and get some income. My father`s name is Rafael Pastor Ruiz and he is 49 years old. Currently, he earns a living by working as a farmer and he supports us with home expenses. I ask for your prayers for him because he suffers from hemorrhoids. Fortunately, he visited the doctor and now he is under medical treatment but sometimes the problem appears again. Thank God, we continue attending the Emmanuel Church once a week. As a big family, our current need is corn. We are grateful to the LW evangelism team for their encouraging words during the visit to my mother. I want to let you know that the rest of my family is in good health.

This year I am in 5th grade at school. I continue receiving face-to-face classes every day and I prefer this study method because my teacher explains to me all about homework. My parents strive to support my sister and me at school. Nowadays, school fees are expensive, and sometimes it is difficult to cover all expenses due to a lack of stable jobs.  In the future, I want to travel to the United States and look for a job there in order to help my family. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because I like to eat “tamales” (a typical dish) with my family.  “India Quiche” is what I prefer to drink. (It is a kind of soft beverage made in our village). I speak Spanish where I live, but I would like to learn English; I think this is a very interesting language. Among sports, I prefer soccer. I would like that my family could celebrate my 18th birthday (here in Guatemala, 18 is when you “come of age” and it is a very important celebration). We are grateful to Living Water because I receive the meals, medical and dental attention, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive at the end of the year.  May God bless you greatly!

Warm regards,

Wenceslao Angel Pastor Hernandez
