Many blessings and greetings to you and your family. This is Elvira Riz Ruiz, your sponsored child from Guatemala. I am so happy to share a little about me with you through this letter. First, I want to thank you for taking the time to read my information. I turned 5 years old in May. I do not attend school yet due to my young age. In my spare time, I enjoy pretending to cooking, running and jumping at home, especially with my best friend Sara. We have been friends for a few years. I pray that God will give my parents the opportunity to buy me a toy; due to our low resources it has not been possible. I identify more with my mother since I spend most of my time with her. I am very grateful to God because He has helped me always. I am a healthy child.
I have very hard-working parents with whom I live happily. My father Vicente, works both as a farmer and as a day laborer. Currently, he is planting corn. My mother is Claudia, but in our town, the people know her as “Juanita”. She earns a living selling “yucca cocida” which is a typical snack. Thanks to God, my family is well. We attend a Christian church called “Church of Christ”. The religious activity I like most are the vigils. I really appreciate that the evangelism teachers shared the gospel with us to encourage us to continue persevering in God's ways. I would like to ask for your prayers that God will give us the opportunity to repair our house because we live in rooms made of sheet which are in poor condition. I say good bye for now. God bless you!
Best wishes,
Elvira Riz Ruiz
