My Story

Hello! Let me begin by thanking you for taking the time to read my update. I want to tell you that I walk for twenty minutes to arrive to the feeding program. I am Michael Anthony. I am 15 years old and I had my birthday in January. I take classes in my village and I am a seventh-grade student. I am repeating my grade. My school is about thirty-five minutes away from my home. I love Mathematics but Social studies is a little difficult for me. Currently I am receiving homework through Whatsapp and then I send pictures with the completed tasks. I like to help my parents with some work at home. Then I like to listen to music, watch TV or play football.

The people who live in the house are my parents, two siblings and me. My father lost his job and is at home. My mother´s job consists of making calls for some people in a clothing factory. Fortunately she is working as normal but from home. One brother had been working stocking products in Price Smart market. A few weeks ago he was suspended from his job due to the pandemic but he is receiving his wages. My other brother worked as a technician of dental equipment. Unfortunately he is suspended from his job. My family and I are members of Catholic Church, but since it is closed we are hearing the services on the radio. I am grateful to God because we all are in good health. In spite of the hard health situation that we are currently facing in our country, our Lord has been taking care of us. We trust in our Lord's mercy and that He will put His healing hands over all people who are suffering during this pandemic. I would like to receive a letter from you, and if you want to know something else about me, feel free to ask it to me.

God bless you!

A-A-C NOTE: After the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in our country (March 13, 2020), our President ordered the closure of all the schools in order to prevent children becoming affected by this virus. We do not know when the schools will open again. However, most of the schools are assigning homework to their students to cover the content for the current school year. As a team, we are praying that God takes control of this situation soon so that we may continue on with our lives.
