My Story

Hello! This is Katerine Higinia, and I greet you with much love hoping you are doing well. I turned 20 in August, and I am in good health. I no longer study this year. I would have liked to become a doctor and learn English language. When we have the resources, I eat cake for my birthday. I like playing rugby, and I love drinking sodas like Pepsi. My favorite season is summer because I used to go out with my parents on those days. I have a dog as a pet.

I want to ask you to pray for my family and me because we are passing through a very difficult time. Sadly, my stepfather passed away in February of this year due to diabetes, and it affected us a lot. About two weeks after our loss, my mother started to feel very bad and small abscesses began to appear and expand all over her body. We took her to the public hospital because she had a lot of pain, and the doctors diagnosed her with advanced lupus. She was in hospital for one month, and when she felt a little better, she was discharged. But the situation changed for the worse and she returned to the hospital. However, she did not want to stay in hospital because she felt afraid to leave us alone. She is very sick and is in bed now. She is under a medical treatment at the hospital, and we are waiting for God’s Miracle.

I am now tending my mother’s second-hand clothes stores, and I sell on Facebook. I am doing my best to go ahead with my younger sister, pay the house bills and cover my mother’s medicine. There are days that we have nothing to eat but I continue working hard for my family. It is a hard situation for my sister and me, so please keep me in your prayers. At the moment, our greatest needs are groceries. I started to study at the University, but due to our situation, I had to drop out. We are not attending a church, but we thank LW Evangelism team because they have visited us to share God’s Word and pray for our lives. We are grateful to you too for all the support received through the feeding program and clinics. May God bless you!

All the best
