My Story

Chixocol, where your child lives, is a very small village nestled in a mountain valley in the state of Quiché, Guatemala. Life in this state is very difficult. Most families live in one-room adobe houses with dirt floors and a small, attached kitchen. The extremely poor live in houses made of corn stalks. In the past few years, electricity and water have become available to most people in the area - however, indoor plumbing is very rare. Most of the families are farmers or shepherds and live off the fruits of their labors. Public education is available for those who can afford it and consider it of value.  Life in Quiché is always a challenge.

Hello, it is a pleasure to greet you. I was recently enrolled in the feeding program from Chixocol and I am very happy about this. Let me introduce myself. My name is Pavel Eduardo Garcia Noriega. I turned 5 years old on April 4^th. I attend pre-kindergarten. I enjoy playing with superhero toys. My favorite color is black. The animals that I like the most are cats and dogs. I like to eat fried bananas. I am in good health as is all of my family. I love my family. My father is Jose Peavel Estuardo Garcia Reyes. He lives in another Department called Quetzaltenango, and it is far from the Feeding program. He works as a photocopier technician. My mother is Nimcy Teresa Noriega Castro. She works as a teacher. We do not attend any church. I have one sister and she is part of the feeding program too.

My family lives in a rented house. My father pays $94.00. (Q. 750.00) per month. There are three rooms and a separate kitchen. The house is made of block walls with a cement roof and ceramic floor. We have electricity and my father pays this service every month. We use well water. At home, we have kittens. I walk about 15 minutes to get to the program. My mother helped me to give my information. God bless the Ministry for helping many children.
