My Story

First, thank you so much for taking the time to read my letter. My name is Marta Celestina, and I greet you excitedly, hoping you are doing well. Before sharing my life with you, let me tell you that my mom helped me to give all this information to a teacher of LW. My family and I still attend Full Gospel Church. We usually do it on Tuesdays and Fridays. My father is Moises Gonzalez Cac, and he is 36 years old. He works hard as a mason. Besides that, he occasionally works by assisting masons. As for his health, let me tell you that he had trouble with kidneys. Thank God and the doctor’s prescription, he feels so much better. My mom is Lidia Cac Pere, and she is 34 years old. She is a healthy woman who works as a domestic employee to help my father with the expenses. We are a big family, and our greatest needs are clothes and groceries like powder mix to prepare hot beverages.

Now, I want you to know more about my life. I am a 12-year-old healthy girl. This year, I attended school as a third grader again. To be honest, it is a little hard for me to learn and understand the lessons.  I prefer to receive face-to-face classes. Covering my school supplies was difficult for my parents because of our low economic resources. My dream is to make my own income as a domestic employee. Therefore, I would love to count on your prayers for me. The best holiday for me is Christmas because I enjoy watching people burn firecrackers. My favorite hot beverage is coffee and I like soccer. I am a native Kiche dialect speaker, and I would love to improve my Spanish speaking. I hope to accomplish it someday. My family and I do not celebrate birthdays because of a lack of money. However, I would love to do it someday. To end this letter, let me tell you that the feeding program has been a tremendous blessing for my family and me. When I get sick, I can attend the LW clinics and receive medicine. See you later!

Kind regards,

Marta Celestina Gonzalez Cac
