My Story

I fondly greet you through this letter and I hope you are receiving many blessings from our Lord. I am Nissy Jireh Shalom, I am 10 years old and I live along with my family. I attend 4th grade at school and I am receiving study guides to do my homework. Then, I have to take my completed homework to my teacher every week at school. For me, it has been a little complicated to study at home because sometimes I do not understand the lessons and I need to look for more information to be able to do my homework. Also, it is a little complicated for my parents to go and pick up the study guides since they are busy. Both my parents earn a living by selling cookies, soap and other products in the market. They are vendors and strive daily to supply our family needs.

This time I am going to share a little about how this covid-19 pandemic has affected us. Well, in my case and my siblings, we suffer from being at home for a long time and we feel so stressed. In my parents’ case, the sales are low which means less income. Nevertheless, we were going ahead little by little with the support that we received from our school. We thank God who has been watching over us and providing the necessary at home. We also received grocery bags from through Living Water / Adopt A Child which were really helpful for my family and me. So, we are deeply thankful to LW who are working hard so that families can get the help, and we are praying for our Lord to bless all of the kind people who support this blessed program. Unfortunately, my family and I got sick with covid-19 last year. We were taking medicines and thanks to God, we all recovered from it and now are in good health. It was a hard experience for my whole family, but we could see God´s faithfulness toward us since He was watching over our health. We attend Hebron Mount Church onTuesday, Friday, and Sunday. We are following the biosecurity measures against covid-19. Well, I hope you continue taking care of your health. I say good bye to you for now. Many blessings!

Hugs and much love,

Nissy Jireh Shalom Jolomna Pirir
