This is Ruben, and it is a pleasure for me to greet you through this. I hope you and your family are doing well. I am eighteen years old. I no longer attend school, so currently, I am working at a store in Guatemala City. I come home to see my famliy every month. Thank God, the feeding program is open again. The thing I love from the program is delicious food from it. I get there in thirty minutes by walking. My father continues to do farming work to provide for my family economically. He works at Chimaltenango, so every two weeks he comes home. My mom stays home making napkins to sell. In addition, she raises sheep and chickens at home. Whenever my dad comes home, he brings snacks to us, so we spend a good time together, we talk and share. On Christmas we made tamales, fruit punch and burnt firecrackers. This way I celebrated this special day with my family. We are still attending Prince of Peace Church. We get there by walking for twenty minutes. Thank God, during the time of the pandemic, we had outdoor services every fortnight.
We own four-room house with separate kitchen. The house is made of mud-brick, tin sheet roof and dirt floor. It does not have electricity, so we use a small solar panel to light up. We get water from a spring source by using a hose, because we do not have running water. The house condition is fair. My father had always work during the pandemic, thank God, so it did not affected my family much. Corn and food supplies is a greatest need for us, so the grocery bags we received in difficult time, met some of our basic food needs. Thank you very much for this support. May God bless all of you greatly! At the moment, I am doing well, and so is my family, thank God. Lastly, I want you to know, my sister gave this information to an Evangelism team member to share with you my last news. Take good care of yourself please! Looking forward to getting in touch with you soon.
Cordially,
Ruben Mendez Mechen
