My Story

Hello! I greet you from the bottom of my heart and wish you a happy and brilliant day. I want to share some news about my family and me. I am Brenda Leticia Franco, and I am 9 years old. I want to let you know that we are not attending Church. We are grateful to the LW evangelism team who shared the gospel with my mother and encouraged her to seek God and attend a church during the visit. This year, I am in 2nd grade at school. I am receiving face-to-face classes and I am learning a lot about homework. At the moment, my mother is making an effort to support me at school in spite of the school fees being so expensive and that she does not have a stable job. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn Spanish and improve my communication with others. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because I like to eat “tamales” (a typical dish). “Atol de masa” (a typical hot drink made with corn flour) and water are my favorite beverages. About sports, I prefer soccer. I want to tell you that I do not celebrate my birthday due to a lack of financial resources, but I would like to do it. By the grace of God, my family and I are in good health.

My mother`s name is Teresa Franco Hernandez. She is 30 years old. At the moment, she continues selling different fruits, and she raises hens, pigs, and sheep to sell and get some income. She is the only one that supports us because my father abandoned us some years ago. We grow corn, black beans, cabbage, and cauliflowers for our family`s consumption. We are a humble family, and our current needs are groceries. We are grateful to Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gifts that I receive every year. Thank you for reading my letter. May God bless you!

Huge hugs,

Brenda Leticia Franco
