My Story

Hi! I greet you in the name of Jesus and hope you have a successful day alongside your lovely family. I want to share some news with you about my family and me. I am Esdras Javier Portuguez Toj and I am 8 years old. I want to let you know that at the moment, we are attending God`s Christian Church. We are grateful to the LW evangelism team who shared the gospel with my mother during the visit and for their encouraging words. This year, I am in 2^nd grade at school and I am receiving face-to-face classes every day. I prefer this study method because I can solve the doubts about the topics. At the moment, my father is making an effort to support my brothers and me at school in spite of the school fees being so expensive and that he does not have a stable job. In the future, I want to travel to the United States and look for a job. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn English; I think it is a very important language. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because I love to receive my Christmas gift through the LW feeding center. Peach juice is my favorite beverage. Among sports, I prefer cycling. I do not celebrate my birthday due to a lack of financial resources, but I would like to celebrate it. Thank God, my family and I are in good health.

My mother`s name is Martha Toj. She is 28 years old. Currently, she continues doing chores at home and taking care of us. My father`s name is Sergio Israel Portuguez Cux. He is 32 years old. I want to let you know that my father left for the United States. At the moment, he works as a garbage collector.  Every month he sends us some money for our home and we have good communication with him. We are a humble family and our current needs are groceries and corn. We are grateful to you and to Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive through LW Adopt-A-Child in December. I hope you like to read my letter.  May God bless you greatly!
