My Story

It is a pleasure to greet you from the bottom of my heart and I wish you a blessed and brilliant day. In this opportunity, I want to share some news about my family and me through this letter. First of all, my family and I are grateful to Living Water because thanks to your support I receive medical and dental attention in the clinics. In addition, I have a meal and spiritual support at the Feeding Program. I want to let you know that we continue attending the Christian Life Church. Thank you to the LW evangelism team for their encouraging words to us during the visit so, we are sure of our salvation in Christ. My mother`s name is Elena Chivalan Hernandez. She is 32 years old. Nowadays, she does chores at home. In addition, she raises hens and sheep to sell and get some income. My father´s name is Rodolfo Grave Gutierrez. He is 32 years old. At the moment, he continues working as a farmer and day laborer. Moreover, he travels to the coast to pick coffee beans during harvest time. We grow corn for our family´s consumption. As a humble family, our current needs are groceries, corn, and clothes. Thank God, my family and I are doing fine.

My name is Alicia Carolina Grave Chivalan and I am 11 years old. This year, I am in 4th grade at school.  I receive face-to-face classes every day and I am learning a lot with this study method. Thank God, my father is making an effort to support my sisters and me at school in spite of the school fees being so expensive and that he does not have a stable job. My dream is to become a maid. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn Spanish and improve my communication with others. Christmas is my favorite celebration of the year because I have received a gift through the Feeding Center from LW and we celebrate Jesu´s birth.  “Incaparina” is my favorite drink (a hot beverage made of corn and soy flour). I do not celebrate my birthday due to a lack of money. Among sports, I like soccer. Thank you for the Christmas gift that I received through LW Adopt-A-Child in December. I hope you like my letter. May God take care of you!

Warm regards,

Alicia Carolina Grave Chivalan
