My Story

Hello! This is Darilis Zeilyn Barillas, and I am happy to write you this letter. First, let me tell you about the person who supports and takes care of me. She is my mother. Her name is Alma, and she is 54 years old. She is unemployed, but she sometimes sells second-hand clothes at a market, irons clothes or does the laundry of others to make some money. We are still members of Calvary Church, and we attend services on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. We are a humble family, and at the moment, our needs are groceries and school supplies. I want to ask you to pray for her because she has problems with her nerves and is taking medicine for it. We have been blessed in a big way through the feeding program; Living Water is very important to me.

Now let’s talk about me. I am 13 years old, and I am fine. I suffer from asthma, but I am not under medical treatment due to our low resources. I use an inhaler when it is necessary. I am in 7^th grade now, and I am happy to receive face-to-face classes because the teaching is better. It has been difficult for my mother to support me with my studies because my mother has many other expenses. I want to become an accountant, and I would like to learn Mandarin Chinese. When we have the possibility, I eat a delicious chicken broth with my mother for my birthday. My favorite seasons are summer and Christmas because I have vacation. I prefer soccer as a sport, and I love drinking sodas like Coca-Cola. Well, I end my letter hoping you find it interesting and make you smile. May God bless you!
