Zacualpa is a small but busy village in a mountain valley. The village is inhabited by both Quiché Indians and Ladinos (those with mixed European ancestry). The prevalent language is Spanish. Families in this village live in one or two room homes generally constructed of either wood or adobe. Although many of the people are farmers, the village contains several small, specialized stores, a body repair shop for buses, mechanics, plumbers and many other smalltown tradesmen. It also has a large open-air market which serves much of the area. Even with all of this, the poverty level is very high, and the children are very needy.
Hello! I am so happy to share a little about me. This is the first time that I have done this so my mother helped me to give the information. My name is Josue Abraham Jacobo Nas Ruiz. I was born on January 13, 2019. I am 5 years old. My health is good now. I have not attended school since I am still young. I like playing soccer and my favorite animal is the dinosaur. I like green, and I love eating spaghetti. I have two brothers and two sisters. I attend the program with them and we usually walk for 5 minutes to arrive there.
About my family, well my father´s name is Gregorio Nas Gutierrez. He farms the land to support our family. On the other hand, my mother´s name is Regina Ruiz Garcia. She does the hard housework and takes care of us. We attend the Prince of Peace Church. We have many needs, but the main one is food. Thankfully, my father owns a house. It has two rooms and a kitchen. It is made of block, tin sheet roof and cemented floor. There is running water and electricity that my father pays for every time. Thank God, my whole family enjoys good health. Well, I hope you are doing great. Thank you for your interest in knowing about me. I send you many blessings and hugs.
Best regards,
Josue Abraham Jacobo Naz Ruiz
