My Story

I send you warm greetings and hope you are enjoying our Lord’s blessings. My name is Keily Nahomi Caal Morente, and I am 9 years old. I am in 4th grade this year, and I am attending school twice a week. I also work with study guides at home and deliver my homework when I go to school. I did not like to study only at home because it is necessary to receive face-to-face classes. I have internet at home which is useful for me. I miss the feeding program’s food and being with other children, so I hope it can open its doors again soon. I used to walk for 45 minutes to arrive to the program. Unfortunately, my father left the family and does not help us financially. My siblings and I talk by phone with him, but he does not have any type of communication with our mother. My mother is working as a receptionist and is doing her best to cover our needs.

We only go out when we have time, but we try to share good moments in our family at dinner. In spite of the pandemic, my mother ties to give us presents and prepares “tamales and ponche” for Christmas. We are attending Prince of Peace Church, and we felt sad when it had to be closed due to the virus; it is good to seek God. We live in our own house, and it has three rooms including the kitchen. The house is made of concrete block with a tin sheet roof and concrete floor. We have electricity but no running water. One of our neighbors provides us with this service, and we pay him monthly. We were economically affected by this pandemic because everything went up in price. I would like to ask you to pray for my family because we are in need of groceries and school supplies; also, my mother has to pay many bills. I am grateful to God because my family and I are in good health. I tell you that my mother helped me to give this personal information to an Evangelism teacher to tell you about my life.

Cordially yours

Keily Nahomi Caal Morente
