My Story

Hello! This is Pedro, and it is a privilege to greet you through this letter. I hope you are having a fantastic day. Let me tell you that my family and I still attend Methodist Church. We usually attend our services twice weekly. I am glad because I also can listen to the gospel at the feeding program. Actually, a teacher of the evangelism team encouraged my mother to continue loving the Almighty while he shared the gospel with her. He also took advantage of that moment to collect this information for you. Besides listening to God's news, we are happy and grateful for being part of this project because of the tasty food and medicines we receive. My mother, Juana Morente, is 40 years old. She works hard at home by doing the chore and taking care of my sibling and me. She also raises hens and pigs. My father works as a day laborer and cuts sugar cane at the coast for six months. In addition, he grows corn and beans for our consumption.

Unfortunately, he sometimes does not have enough resources to cover all the bills at home, including my school supplies. Our basic needs are clothes and food. Thankfully, my whole family and I are healthy. I am ten years old, and one of my biggest dreams is to make a living as a fireman when I am older. Nowadays, I receive face-to-face classes as a third grader again. I like attending school because the teacher explains the lessons better. I already know a little Spanish, but I would like to speak that language fluently. My favorite holiday is Christmas because I love eating tamales. My favorite drinks are natural juices, and I like football. My next birthday will be in September. What I enjoy the most is having a piñata (a traditional birthday puppet full of candies) to celebrate my day. Thank you so much for reading my news! I say goodbye for now but do not forget that you are a blessing in my life.

Sincerely yours,

Pedro Carlos Xan Morente
